ANALYSIS: Regardless of what the win percentage says, Weber State isn't a very good team this year. They are ranked #191 (out of 358) in the most recent Haslametrics ratings and have a record of 21-12. Of the 11 schools in the Big Sky (average ranking 253.7), they're currently ranked as our #3 team in the conference.
Defensively, Weber State finds itself in the lower half of our ratings. The team is ranked 215th in defensive efficiency, giving up more than 103 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO. Weber State does an extremely poor job to deny the opposition behind the arc. They rank eighth from the bottom nationally in defensive three-point percentage, allowing AO to make 38.0% of their attempts from afar.
Weber State doesn't rate much better on offense than they do on defense. Scoring roughly 101 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #185 in the nation in offensive efficiency. Weber State poses no threat whatsoever to grab rebounds off their own misses. Against AO, the ball-club has a rating of 8.53 in potential points scored off of second chances (fifth from the bottom nationally), and they convert just 3.0% of their second-chance opportunities (ranked 346th) as well. Weber State also happens to be one of the very worst in the game when it comes to maximizing the number of shot attempts they get off from the floor. The team is nationally ranked 348th in offensive field goal attempt rate with a rating of only 79.38 vs. AO. If Weber State does have a strength offensively, it would have to be the team's ability to convert efficiently from the inside. The squad makes 65.1% of their near-proximity field goal attempts vs. AO, which ranks 32nd in the country.
When playing on the road, Weber State has played their best basketball this season. The team is currently ranked sixth in the country in the away-from-home metric our site tracks.
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location. Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
