ANALYSIS:
Despite having a win percentage north of .500, NC A&T is definitely a below-average ball-club in college hoops this year. Carrying a record of 19-13, they are currently rated #308 overall (out of 353) in All-Play Percentage this season. Of the 12 schools in the MEAC (average ranking 322.6), they're currently ranked as our #4 team in the conference. With a strength-of-schedule rating of 0.288 (which ranks fifth from the bottom nationally), NC A&T has had one of the cushiest slates in all of college basketball.

NC A&T is not one of the better offensive teams you will find. They are rated #321 in efficiency on that end of the court and only score about 93 points for every 100 possessions vs. AO. NC A&T has had serious struggles making their free throws this year. Converting just 64.1% of their attempts, the squad is ranked #342 overall in free throw percentage. NC A&T also does a terrible job to take advantage of scoring chances off of offensive rebounds. Against AO, the team converts only 4.1% of all second-chance opportunities (331st nationally).

Though they rate better on defense than they do on offense, NC A&T still isn't one of the more capable defensive teams in college hoops. Allowing roughly 108 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #255 in the nation in defensive efficiency. NC A&T could do a better job to deny opponents chances to score off of the offensive glass. The club has a rating of 15.42 vs. AO in potential points allowed off of second chances (297th nationally).
SORTABLE SCHEDULE / RESULTS:
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location.
Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
CURIOUS TRENDS:
NC A&T is typically worse vs. teams that find ways to get to the free throw line. Against foes that have an offensive free throw attempt rate vs. AO greater than 24.84, NC A&T performs above their norm 25% of the time. Against the remaining opposition, the team performs above average 71% of the time.
When facing teams that convert more frequently off of offensive rebounds, NC A&T often performs worse than normal. NC A&T is more efficient than usual 18% of the time when facing teams that have an offensive second-chance conversion percentage vs. AO greater than 6.18%. In their other contests, NC A&T performs better than the norm 63% of the time.
NC A&T does better vs. clubs that tend to get off more shots. When playing squads that have an offensive field goal attempt rate vs. AO greater than 84.39, NC A&T performs above average 78% of the time. Against all other opponents, the team performs better than the norm 33% of the time.
