ANALYSIS: Not one of the better ball-clubs in college basketball, Lamar should be a fairly easy win for most capable opponents. Ranked 311th overall (out of 357) in our most recent ratings, they presently have a record of 10-18. Of the 13 schools in the Southland (average ranking 265.5), they're currently ranked as our #8 team in the conference.
Lamar is not one of the better offensive teams you will find. They are rated #310 in efficiency on that end of the court and only score about 91 points for every 100 possessions vs. AO. Lamar struggles to draw fouls and earn opportunities at the free throw line. With a free throw attempt rate of just 20.81 vs. AO, they are 323rd in the overall rankings for that category. Lamar also needs improvement when it comes to draining the mid-range shot. The team is ranked 308th in field goal percentage from that distance, making only 33.9% of their mid-range attempts vs. AO.
Lamar doesn't rate much better on defense than they do on offense. Allowing roughly 104 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #267 in the nation in defensive efficiency. Lamar does an extremely poor job to deny the opposition behind the arc. They rank tenth from the bottom nationally in defensive three-point percentage, allowing AO to make 38.7% of their attempts from afar. Lamar also gives up too many chances to easily score off of offensive rebounds. The team allows AO to convert 6.4% of all second-chance opportunities (315th nationally).
Lamar has been playing much better basketball as of late and is presently ranked sixth in positive momentum because of it.
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location. Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
CURIOUS TRENDS:

Lamar is more efficient than normal 13% of the time when facing clubs that have an offensive efficiency rating vs. AO greater than 99.12. In all other contests, Lamar performs better than average 65% of the time.
Lamar is typically better vs. teams that aren't terribly skilled defensively. Against foes that have a defensive efficiency rating vs. AO greater than 98.49, Lamar performs above their norm 65% of the time. Against the remaining opposition, the team performs above average 13% of the time.
When facing teams that have trouble defending the mid-range shot, Lamar often performs better than normal. Lamar is more efficient than usual 67% of the time when facing teams that have a defensive mid-range field goal percentage vs. AO greater than 39.97%.
