Carrying a record of 24-7, they are currently rated #10 overall (out of 353) in All-Play Percentage this season. They are also ranked by this site as the #2 team (out of 15) in the ACC (average ranking 69.6).
Louisville will create problems for opponents with their extremely prolific offense. Scoring roughly 111 points for every 100 possessions vs. AO, the squad is rated #14 in offensive efficiency. Louisville is an excellent shooting team, capable of converting from multiple locations on the court and ranking in the top-50 in three of our four primary field goal categories. Louisville also allows very few breakaway opportunities for the opposition, which typically translates to fewer turnovers. The team's rating vs. AO for potential breakaway points allowed off of steals is 8.40, which ranks #20 in the country.
Louisville plays at roughly the same level defensively as they do offensively. The team ranks 32nd nationally in defensive efficiency, allowing about 91 points every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO. Louisville does a super job to deny opponents offensive rebounds and second chances. They have a rating of 9.71 vs. AO in potential points allowed off of second chances (ranked 12th in the country), and they allow AO to convert just 3.4% of their second-chance opportunities (ranked 13th) as well. Louisville also boasts one of the better overall defensive field goal percentages in the country. The team ranks #26 nationally in field goal percentage allowed, as AO only makes good on about 39.4% of their total attempts from the floor.
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location. Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
