ANALYSIS: Regardless of what the win percentage says, Texas A&M-CC isn't a very good team this year. Carrying a record of 24-12, they are currently rated #189 overall (out of 351) in All-Play Percentage this season. Of the 13 schools in the Southland (average ranking 265.5), they're currently ranked as the best team in the conference.
Though their offense is far from the worst in the game, Texas A&M-CC is not terribly gifted on that end of the court either. Scoring about 99 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked at #196 in offensive efficiency. Texas A&M-CC has been below-average more times than not when shooting three-pointers this year. They are ranked 298th in three-point field goal percentage nationally and make just 32.2% of their attempts from long vs. AO.
Texas A&M-CC doesn't rate much better on defense than they do on offense. Allowing roughly 102 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #177 in the nation in defensive efficiency. Texas A&M-CC does a less-than-adequate job to prevent opponents from scoring off of the offensive glass. The team allows AO to convert 8.1% of all second-chance opportunities (292nd nationally). If Texas A&M-CC does have a bright spot on defense, it would have to be their willingness to take risks in order to score fast points off of steals. The team has a solid rating of 14.77 in potential points scored off of steals vs. AO, which ranks 15th-best in college basketball.
Texas A&M-CC has been playing much better basketball as of late and is presently ranked sixth in positive momentum because of it.
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location. Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
