ANALYSIS:
They're far from the worst of the worst, but UT Rio Grande should not be a terribly frightening opponent for most clubs. They are ranked #235 (out of 363) in the most recent Haslametrics ratings and have a record of 15-17. Of the 13 schools in the WAC (average ranking 162.2), they're currently ranked as our #12 team in the conference.

UT Rio Grande does not provide much of a challenge on defense. They are ranked at #283 in efficiency on that end of the court and give up about 108 points for every 100 possessions vs. AO. UT Rio Grande is one of the very worst teams in the game when it comes to preventing opponents from scoring off of offensive rebounds. The team allows AO to convert 7.5% of all second-chance opportunities (fourth from the bottom nationally). UT Rio Grande also does a pretty inadequate job to provide chances for themselves to score quickly off of steals. They're ranked #326 in potential points off of breakaway steals with a rating of only 7.91 vs. AO.

Though they rate better on offense than they do on defense, UT Rio Grande still isn't one of the more capable offensive teams in college hoops. Scoring roughly 101 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #218 in the nation in offensive efficiency. UT Rio Grande tends to be very careless with the ball and allows far too many breakaway opportunities off of their own turnovers. The team's rating for potential breakaway points allowed off of steals vs. AO is 13.65, which ranks 349th in D1. UT Rio Grande is also one of the more inferior teams in the college game when it comes to maximizing opportunities to score on offense. The team is nationally ranked 336th in offensive field goal attempt rate with a rating of only 80.70 vs. AO. If UT Rio Grande does have a strength offensively, it would have to be the team's ability to get to the free throw line. The squad has a free throw attempt rate of 30.16 vs. AO, which ranks 19th in the country.
SORTABLE SCHEDULE / RESULTS:
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location.
Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
