ANALYSIS:
Wright State has a fairly solid squad that likely falls within the top quartile of all teams in college basketball this year. Carrying a record of 18-6, they are currently rated #53 overall (out of 357) in All-Play Percentage this season. Of the 12 schools in the Horizon League (average ranking 232.0), they're currently ranked as the best team in the conference.

Wright State has a fairly effective defensive attack. Occupying the #38 slot in our defensive efficiency ratings, they will allow about 92 points for every 100 possessions vs. AO. Wright State is a superior unit when it comes to preventing opponents from getting to the foul line. With a defensive free throw attempt rate of 18.61 vs. AO, they are currently rated eighth in the country in that category. Wright State has also done a very good job to prevent opponents from draining threes this year. They rank 42nd in the NCAA in defensive three-point percentage, allowing AO to make just 31.2% of their attempts from afar. For this reason, AO takes nowhere near as many threes as they typically would -- just 31.5% of AO's field goal attempts will be from downtown.

Wright State is also a fairly decent team on the offensive end of the court. The team ranks 90th nationally in offensive efficiency, scoring about 105 points every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO. Wright State appears to be one of the top-notch offensive rebounding teams you will find this year. Against AO, the squad has a rating of 17.40 in potential points scored off of second chances (ranked 14th in the NCAA), and they convert 7.4% of their second-chance opportunities (ranked 21st) as well. Wright State will also make a strong effort to get off as many field goals close to the basket as they can. The ball-club is 50th in the NCAA in ratio of near-proximity attempts to total field goal attempts. As far as converting those near-proximity shots goes, the team shoots 58.2% vs. AO, which falls somewhere in the middle of the pack of the rankings in that category.

Wright State has definitely not been as efficient as of late compared to earlier in the season and, consequently, the team is nationally ranked 335th in positive momentum. Wright State has also been one of the most erratic teams in college basketball this year (currently ranked 346th overall in consistency), which makes the outcomes of their future games far more difficult to predict. When playing on the road, Wright State has played their best basketball this season. The team is currently ranked third in the country in the away-from-home metric our site tracks.
SORTABLE SCHEDULE / RESULTS:
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location.
Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.

When facing teams that have an offensive field goal percentage vs. AO greater than 41.20%, Wright State is more efficient than normal 27% of the time. In their other contests, the team is more efficient 78% of the time.
When playing teams that do a nice job converting inside the paint, Wright State usually performs worse than average. Wright State is more efficient than normal 27% of the time when facing clubs that have an offensive near-proximity field goal percentage vs. AO greater than 54.35%.
