ANALYSIS:
This website places Vermont in the top 25% of all NCAA college basketball teams this year. Their record this season is 28-6, and the club is ranked 58th overall (out of 358) in Haslametrics' most recent ratings. They are also ranked by this site as the best team (out of 10) in the America East (average ranking 262.8).

Vermont has a reasonably potent offensive attack. Occupying the #33 slot in our offensive efficiency rankings, they will score about 110 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO. Vermont is an excellent shooting team, capable of converting from multiple locations on the court and ranking in the top-50 in three of our four primary field goal categories. They convert 36.4% of their three-pointers (48th in the nation), 65.5% of their near-proximity attempts (22nd), and 47.0% of their total shots from the field (34th) vs. AO. Vermont also does a pretty good job of protecting the ball when they have possession and not allowing quick and easy baskets off of their own turnovers. The team's rating vs. AO for potential breakaway points allowed off of steals is 8.93, which ranks #29 in the country. If Vermont does have a glaring weakness offensively, it would have to be the team's difficulties obtaining second-chance opportunities from offensive rebounds. The squad only has a rating of 9.53 vs. AO in potential points off of second chances, which ranks 18th-worst in college hoops.

Vermont is also a fairly decent team on the defensive end of the court. The team ranks 92nd nationally in defensive efficiency, allowing about 96 points every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO. Vermont does a super job to deny opponents offensive rebounds and second chances. They have a rating of 9.74 vs. AO in potential points allowed off of second chances (ranked 11th in the country), and they allow AO to convert just 3.2% of their second-chance opportunities (ranked 14th) as well. Vermont also does a pretty solid job avoiding careless fouls and minimizing opponents' opportunities from the free throw line. With a defensive free throw attempt rate of 19.78 vs. AO, they are currently rated 34th in the country in that category. If Vermont does exhibit a weakness on the defensive end of the floor, it'd likely be the team's unwillingness to take risks in order to score fast points off of the opposition's turnovers. The squad only has a rating of 8.27 in potential points scored off of steals vs. AO, which ranks 39th-worst in the college game.

Vermont has been playing better basketball in their most recent outings, as evidenced by the team's #32 ranking in positive momentum. Vermont has also been one of the most erratic teams in college basketball this year (currently ranked 335th overall in consistency), which makes the outcomes of their future games far more difficult to predict.
SORTABLE SCHEDULE / RESULTS:
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location.
Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
