ANALYSIS:
TCU has a fairly solid squad that likely falls within the top quartile of all teams in college basketball this year. Haslametrics has them ranked 35th overall (out of 351) in All-Play Percentage, and the team holds a record of 24-15. They are also ranked by this site as the #8 team (out of 10) in the Big 12 (average ranking 27.6). Sporting a strength-of-schedule rating of 0.756 (the 18th-highest in the country), TCU has prepared themselves by challenging some of the best teams in the college game.

TCU succeeds primarily through their offense. They are ranked 36th in offensive efficiency and score in excess of 112 points every 100 possessions vs. AO. TCU does an outstanding job finishing any scoring chances they obtain from offensive rebounds. Against AO, the team successfully converts 9.0% of all second-chance opportunities (ranked 20th nationally). TCU also allows very few breakaway opportunities for the opposition, which typically translates to fewer turnovers. The team's rating vs. AO for potential breakaway points allowed off of steals is 8.44, which ranks #23 in the country. TCU is lastly one of the very best when it comes to maximizing field goal opportunities. The team is ranked 24th in the NCAA in offensive field goal attempt rate with a rating of 85.52 vs. AO. And when they do shoot, they make a fair portion of their shots. Ranked in the top-50 in field goal shooting percentage, the squad converts about 48.0% of their total attempts vs. AO.

TCU plays at roughly the same level defensively as they do offensively. The team ranks 43rd nationally in defensive efficiency, allowing about 94 points every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO. TCU does a pretty solid job avoiding careless fouls and minimizing opponents' opportunities from the free throw line. With a defensive free throw attempt rate of 22.64 vs. AO, they are currently rated 35th in the country in that category. TCU has also done a really good job this year to prevent opponents from making shots from the inside. They are ranked 44th in the country in defensive near-proximity percentage, allowing AO to make good on only 54.0% of their attempts from close-up.

TCU has been playing better basketball in their most recent outings, as evidenced by the team's #31 ranking in positive momentum. When playing on the road, TCU performs somewhat worse than they normally do on their home court. The club is nationally ranked 305th in our site's away-from-home metric.
