ANALYSIS:
Despite having a win percentage north of .500, New Orleans is definitely a below-average ball-club in college hoops this year. Carrying a record of 19-14, they are currently rated #268 overall (out of 353) in All-Play Percentage this season. They are also ranked by this site as the #6 team (out of 13) in the Southland (average ranking 269.8).

Offense is not the strong suit when it comes to New Orleans. The team is ranked 312th in offensive efficiency and scores fewer than 95 points every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO. New Orleans fares worse than most teams when it comes to converting from locations close to the hoop. The team is ranked 299th in near-proximity field goal percentage, making only 54.9% of their attempts from up-close vs. AO.

Even though the team ranks considerably higher in defensive efficiency, New Orleans isn't a powerhouse on that end of the floor either. Allowing roughly 104 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #178 in the nation in defensive efficiency. New Orleans gives up far too many offensive rebounds and second chances to their opponents. The club has a rating of 18.66 vs. AO in potential points allowed off of second chances (second from the bottom nationally), and they let AO convert a healthy 9.3% of all second-chance opportunities (ranked second from the bottom) as well. New Orleans also fouls far too much and sends the opposition to the line way too often. With a defensive free throw attempt rate of 31.02 vs. AO, the squad is ranked #335 in the country in that category. If New Orleans does have a bright spot on defense, it would have to be their ability to prevent opponents from draining shot attempts in between the three-point line and the low post. AO will convert just 32.4% of their mid-range field goal attempts, and the team is nationally ranked 37th-best in that category as a result.

When playing on the road, New Orleans performs somewhat worse than they normally do on their home court. The club is nationally ranked 320th in our site's away-from-home metric.
SORTABLE SCHEDULE / RESULTS:
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location.

In their other contests, New Orleans performs better than the norm 22% of the time.
