ANALYSIS:
As one of the worst teams in NCAA basketball, Miss. Valley St. should be a pushover for the average-to-good squads in Division I. They are ranked #362 (out of 362) in the most recent Haslametrics ratings and have a record of 1-30. Of the 12 schools in the SWAC (average ranking 319.3), they're obviously ranked as the worst team in the conference.

Miss. Valley St. has a very tough time coming by points on offense. Scoring about 86 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are woefully ranked #361 in offensive efficiency. Miss. Valley St. tends to be very careless with the ball and allows far too many breakaway opportunities off of their own turnovers. The team's rating for potential breakaway points allowed off of steals vs. AO is 17.62, which ranks third from the bottom in D1. Miss. Valley St. is also downright awful shooting the basketball and can't hit from anywhere, shamefully ranking in the bottom-25 in each of the four major field goal shooting categories. They make just 30.0% of their three-pointers (ranking 344th nationally), 33.9% of their mid-range attempts (343rd), 51.7% of their near-proximity chances (341st), and 39.1% of their total shots from the field (352nd) vs. AO. Miss. Valley St. lastly has had serious struggles making their free throws this year. Converting just 66.1% of their attempts, the squad is ranked #338 overall in free throw percentage.

Sadly, Miss. Valley St. is almost as horrific on the defensive end of the floor as they are on the offensive end of it.
