ANALYSIS:
If you see North Dakota on the schedule, you will likely get one of the average to below-average teams in college hoops. They are ranked #223 (out of 362) in the most recent Haslametrics ratings and have a record of 18-14. They are also ranked by this site as the #4 team (out of nine) in the Summit League (average ranking 228.3).

North Dakota does not have a terribly exceptional defense this year. Rated at #249 in defensive efficiency, they allow around 109 points every 100 possessions vs. AO. North Dakota has done a lackluster job this year when defending the mid-range shot. The squad is ranked 327th nationally in defensive mid-range field goal percentage, allowing AO to make good on 42.9% of their attempts from those in-between spots on the floor. Making matters worse, AO will take advantage of that weakness and put up mid-range shots in abundance. Of AO's total field goals, a huge portion of them (31.5%) will be from those in-between locations. If North Dakota does have a bright spot on defense, it would have to be their success stopping opponents from earning second-chance opportunities via offensive boards. The team has a rating of 11.08 in potential points allowed off of second chances vs. AO, which ranks 27th-best in college hoops.

North Dakota doesn't rate much better on offense than they do on defense. Scoring roughly 103 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #212 in the nation in offensive efficiency. North Dakota has been below-average more times than not when shooting three-pointers this year. They are ranked 291st in three-point field goal percentage nationally and make just 32.0% of their attempts from long vs. AO. If North Dakota does have a strength offensively, it would have to be the team's knack for obtaining second-chance opportunities from offensive rebounds. The squad has a rating of 16.82 in potential points off of second chances vs. AO, which ranks 39th in all of college hoops.

North Dakota has been one of the more erratic teams in NCAA basketball this year (presently ranked 331st in the country in consistency), which makes forecasting the outcomes of their upcoming games tougher than most. On the road, North Dakota performs somewhat better than their norm, as the squad is nationally ranked 44th in our away-from-home metric.
SORTABLE SCHEDULE / RESULTS:
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location.
Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
