ANALYSIS:
Not one of the better ball-clubs in college basketball, UMKC should be a fairly easy win for most capable opponents. They have a record of 10-22 and are ranked 276th overall (out of 351) in the latest Haslametrics ratings. Of the eight schools in the WAC (average ranking 200.5), they're currently ranked as our #7 team in the conference.

UMKC is not one of the most productive teams on offense. Scoring fewer than 95 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are rated at #295 in offensive efficiency. UMKC poses no threat whatsoever to grab rebounds off their own misses. Against AO, the ball-club has a rating of 8.95 in potential points scored off of second chances (fifth from the bottom nationally), and they convert just 3.9% of their second-chance opportunities (ranked eighth from the bottom) as well. UMKC is also one of the more inferior teams in the college game when it comes to maximizing opportunities to score on offense. The team is nationally ranked 316th in offensive field goal attempt rate with a rating of only 78.54 vs. AO. If UMKC does have a strength offensively, it would have to be the team's care for the ball. The squad has a rating of 8.82 in potential points allowed off of steals vs. AO, which ranks 26th in the college game.

Though they rate better on defense than they do on offense, UMKC still isn't one of the more capable defensive teams in college hoops. Allowing roughly 105 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #225 in the nation in defensive efficiency. UMKC fouls far too much and sends the opposition to the line way too often. With a defensive free throw attempt rate of 31.91 vs. AO, the squad is ranked #335 in the country in that category. UMKC also gives up far too many offensive rebounds and second chances to their opponents. The club has a rating of 17.56 vs. AO in potential points allowed off of second chances (333rd nationally), and they let AO convert a healthy 9.1% of all second-chance opportunities (ranked 332nd) as well. If UMKC does have a bright spot on defense, it would have to be their ability to prevent opponents from draining shot attempts in between the three-point line and the low post.
