ANALYSIS: Hartford presently has one of the below-average teams in college basketball. Carrying a record of 14-16, they are currently rated #274 overall (out of 351) in All-Play Percentage this season. They are also ranked by this site as the #5 team (out of nine) in the America East (average ranking 240.0).
Hartford is not one of the most productive teams on offense. Scoring fewer than 94 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are rated at #291 in offensive efficiency. Hartford does a terrible job to take advantage of scoring chances off of offensive rebounds. Against AO, the team converts only 3.6% of all second-chance opportunities (third from the bottom nationally), and with a rating of 12.04, they're 316th in potential points scored off of the offensive boards as well. Hartford is also downright rotten when shooting the mid-range jumper. The team is ranked 330th in field goal percentage from that distance, making only 30.6% of their mid-range attempts vs. AO. Exacerbating the situation, they find themselves in the bottom-50 in overall offensive field goal percentage, converting only 39.5% of all their attempts from the floor vs. AO.
Though they rate better on defense than they do on offense, Hartford still isn't one of the more capable defensive teams in college hoops. Allowing roughly 103 points for every 100 trips upcourt vs. AO, they are ranked #200 in the nation in defensive efficiency. Hartford has done a pretty poor job this season to prevent opponents from making shots from the inside. The team is ranked 320th in the country in defensive near-proximity percentage, allowing AO to make good on 64.5% of their attempts from close-up. Hartford also gives up too many chances to easily score off of offensive rebounds. The team allows AO to convert 8.5% of all second-chance opportunities (313th nationally).
When playing on the road, Hartford has played their best basketball this season. The team is currently ranked 12th in the country in the away-from-home metric our site tracks.
Projections are based on present-day ratings. Stars indicate games played at a neutral location. Game efficiencies only account for data before a contest has gone analytically final and are adjusted to extract home-court advantage.
CURIOUS TRENDS:

Hartford is more efficient than normal 68% of the time when facing clubs that have an offensive second-chance potential point rate vs. AO greater than 13.93.
